16-Year-Old in Custody for Alleged Role in Kennewick Shooting
Kennewick Police with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Pasco Police Department took a 16-year old juvenile suspect into custody Monday for his alleged involvement in a January shooting. The suspect was located in the 1100 block of North Road 60 in Pasco.
The juvenile was wanted in connection to an incident on January 8th, where officers responded to an area hospital for a report of an 18-year old man with multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
After interviewing the victim, Police learned the man had made arrangements with an associate to sell property at a pre-set location. The victim told police that the associate arrived with another male. It's alleged that both the associate and the second male entered the victim's vehicle flashing firearms. They demanded property from the victim, who refused.
The known associate left the vehicle and fired multiple shots at the victim through the driver's open window.
The suspects then took the property and fled.
The 16-year old suspect was taken to the Benton Franklin County Juvenile Justice Center and booked for Robbery 1st degree and Assault 1st degree.
Police are continuing their search for the other suspect who remains at large.
