A Staggering Amount of July 4 Deaths are Men

Being that we are a river community, we sure are a lot of fun! But that fun needs to be accompanied with safety. If not, the consequences are dire. The US Coast Guard reports that there were 3,297 public recreation fatalities last year. Most of those deaths were either swimming or boating related.

88% of those total deaths were men! Most of them were between the ages of 18-35.
