Guitar great Eddie Van Halen is resting after recently undergoing emergency surgery. The Van Halen co-founder had been suffering significant pain as of late that came about as a result of Diverticulitis.

Congrats to Slash. The legendary rocker just received the 2,473rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Slipknot had teased that a big announcement was coming on Monday, June 4, via their Twitter page on Saturday (June 2), but it looks like the folks at Ticketmaster have let the news … slip. It appears the band will headline their own Knotfest in their home state of Iowa on Aug. 17, and the bill will also feature Deftones, Lamb of God, Serj Tankian, Dethklok, the Urge and Prong.

The gents of Pop Evil have been heating up radio with three consecutive hits off their latest album, 2011′s ‘War of Angels.’ The disc’s singles ‘Last Man Standing,’ ‘Monster You Made’ and ‘Boss’s Daughter’ have all cracked the Top 10 of the mainstream rock chart.

Slash is set to release the first single off his upcoming album to radio on Monday, Feb. 27, but he’s offering a 30-second sneak listen to the tune right now (hear it below). The song, ‘You’re a Lie,’ is the first taste of the guitarist’s second ‘solo’ album ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ due May 22.
