In a recent interview director, Matt Reeves for The Batman movie stated that his Bruce Wayne/Batman is based on a famous Seattle musician. Bruce Wayne lost his parents right in front of him at 8 years old putting him on the path of becoming Batman.

The person it's based on is none other than Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Kurt was a recluse and one who didn't like being seen in the public eye. Kurt had a lot of personal issues that dealt him a hand of anxiety and social awkwardness while being the center of the biggest band in the '90s.

During an interview, Matt Reeves stated the following to Empire Magazine

“When I write, I listen to music, and as I was writing the first act, I put on Nirvana’s ‘Something in the Way,' That’s when it came to me that, rather than make Bruce Wayne the playboy version we’ve seen before, there’s another version who had gone through a great tragedy and become a recluse. So I started making this connection to Gus Van Sant’s Last Days, and the idea of this fictionalized version of Kurt Cobain being in this kind of decaying manor.”

This means we won't see the billionaire playboy we've seen in all the other Batman movies, but one still dealing with the trauma of losing his parents and watching it all go down. Bruce hasn't found his full footing yet into the Batman we know and love.

Bruce has been out on the streets every single night for two years, receiving scars and injuries to show his dedication. In this movie, we'll see the true transition as Bruce fights his way through his new rogue's gallery. Even Alfred is convinced Bruce is not well and in a downward spiral.

All the while he may find love for the first time with Zoe Kravits Catwoman and rumors are that he may even find a Robin in the next film. As a comic book fan and a die-hard Batman fan, this is leading up to be the best live-action Batman ever made.
