BEWARE! Catalytic Converter Thieves Are Roaming Interstate 182
It's bad enough that you break down on the freeway now drivers need to be worried about catalytic converter thieves roaming the highways. Several thefts have occurred near Richland/Pasco on Interstate 182.
It's like a scene from the Mad Max movie where marauders were searching for gas. It looks like if you break down on the interstate highway, your vehicle could get ransacked.
I know that everyone's situation is different but it's a heads-up that leaving your vehicle on the side of the freeway leaves you open to more damages.

WSP is making stranded motorists aware of the thefts and will be on the lookout for your vehicle's safety but there still is a chance you get robbed. If you do break down, I'd call a tow truck and have your vehicle towed. It could save you a lot of money in the end.
