If you can't put the plug in the jug, you may want to smoke some of that reefer to help keep yourself alive. Ganga? Please! The Pot helps.
Seriously.
If you're going to drink a lot you might want to smoke some marijuana also.
North Shore Medical Center researchers looked at data on many people who had a history of alcohol abuse. They found those that also smoked marijuana had a 45 percent lower risk of getting alcoholic steatosis, or "fatty liver disease," a 55 percent lower risk of developing cirrhosis (scarring of the liver which can lead to liver failure), and a 38 percent lower chance of developing the most common form of liver cancer.
Researchers aren't sure how marijuana protects the liver, but do note that receptors in the body that respond to compounds in cannabis are known to have the ability to suppress the collection of fat on the liver.
