It seemed like a normal Sunday afternoon at a popular Kennewick Mini-Mart until a car came crashing through the front of the building. The accident happened at the corner of 27th Avenue and Olympia at about 1:00 PM.

According to reports, a car accidentally struck and entered the Mini-Mart Shell Station.

The Kennewick Police Department is reporting that the driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake and caused the car to leap the parking lot barrier and crash head first into the store.

The accident appears to be driver error and no alcohol or substances are suspected.

Sadly, the business will be temporarily closed as the building’s structure is evaluated for safety.
