Kennewick Police are praising the courage of an elementary student after he brought a baggie of meth to school.

The youngster didn't feel safe at home, and told his teacher he had found it in his house.

A school resource officer from KPD interviewed the child, who gave further details about his parents and home life. Officers were able to use that information to obtain a search warrant. Upon searching the home, detectives found "mexies." Mexies are fentanyl pills. They also found drug paraphernalia. Jennifer Edwards and Daniel Oleary, both 29, were arrested for possesion of a controlled substance. The boy and his siblings are now in the care of CPS.
