Three children were injured Tuesday morning, after a vehicle crashed into the side of the school bus they were riding on.

The bus was picking up school children just outside of Kennewick. There were 14 passengers on the bus at the time of the collision, just after 8 am.

It's believed the driver of the car did NOT stop at the intersection of 27th Avenue and Gum Street, and then slammed into the side of the bus at a high rate of speed.

Benton County Sheriff's Deputies described the driver of the sedan as "young" and appeared to be fine. It's believed that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the collision.

The three hurt children were treated for minor injuries at the scene and then all the kids were transported to Cascade Elementary School on another bus.
