These Killer Jobs are the Most Dangerous in Washington State
We're all just trying to get home safe each day.
I spend way too much time browsing r/OSHA and seeing all of the accidents waiting to happen. It's easy for me to feel safe at my desk and not worry about the potential dangers others may face in their workplace. That being said, I was once in a near-fatal car accident in the company vehicle years ago. Aside from that, my professional existence has been fairly cushy.
Count your blessings because these are the deadliest jobs in Washington.
When we think of people who put their lives on the line, we typically think of the military and emergency first-responders such as police officers and firefighters. But other careers and professions pose danger to those who work in them.
You can glean all sorts of information from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. Most years, they publish data compiled from claims they receive. In those reports you can see how many people died on the job each year, and in what fields. Many of these statistics made sense while others made me appreciate the efforts of workers in certain fields. I'm sure you'll learn something new like I did reading through the reports.
