Dumb Criminal Accidentally Texts Boss to Kill Wife & Child

Most people just text their former employer for a good reference or recommendation. A Monroe man allegedly texted his old boss by accident thinking he was a hitman.

The man offered to split his wife's $1.5 million life insurance policy. What makes this worse? He offered a bonus if the "hitman" killed the couple's four year-old daughter.

“You remember you said that you would help me kill my wife. I’m going to take you up on that offer. I’ll split everything with the insurance 50/50," the texts said.

The man intended to have the incident look like a robbery gone wrong and even included information such as his wife's work schedule. The former boss called 911 and the suspect has been arrested.
