A para-professional was suspended at a Grandview elementary school last month for taping a student to her seat and taping another student's shoe to his foot. Normally it might be brushed off as a joke, but these were special-needs students.

The educator is suspended without pay while the situation is investigated. It is unclear whether the acts deserves termination, but the parents are upset because it constituted physical restraint, something not allowed on any student, particularly not special needs students.
