Real weather hounds know that Cliff Mass is one of the best in the business. His online weather blog is reporting that big rains are coming to the west side and that's going to pretty much end fire season for 2021. There is a whole lot of moisture headed into Washington and Oregon, with 2-4 inches in the mountains! Snow is even possible above 6000 feet! Naturally, we will get less rain here in Eastern Washington but we can expect some decent showers to douse our area Friday night into Saturday, and maybe even a shower or two on Sunday. Hopefully, the Yakima Valley will get enough to finally improve its air quality. The smoke from the fire in that area has been unusually persistent. The Tri-Cities area forecast calls for a high of 80 today but gusty winds this afternoon. Those winds will bring in cooler temps for tomorrow with a high of 72 and mostly sunny conditions. It will be a cloudy Friday as the system begins to move in, and rain should start falling Friday evening into Saturday. High temps Saturday and Sunday will only be around the mid-60s but we will bounce back into the mid-70s with some very pleasant days waiting for us next week.

Most lawns in the Mid-Columbia that struggled during the heatwaves have recovered, but now is the time to start thinking about throwing down some Fall Weed & Feed. This should help curb the unusually high amount of weeds we had this year. A spring pre-emergent might really help a lot also. When I do my research and find out what's best for lawns in our area, I'll share it in an article like the one you're reading now!
