Foo Fighters + Royal Blood Emerge Victorious at 2015 Brit Awards
Foo Fighters were named as the Best International Act, beating out the Black Keys, the War on Drugs, 5 Seconds of Summer and First Aid Kit. The honor comes on the heels of Foo Fighters winning Best International Act at the NME Awards, where the band also announced their participation in this year's Glastonbury Festival.
Meanwhile, Royal Blood were chosen as the Best British Group, besting Alt-J, Coldplay, Clean Bandit and One Direction for the honor. Royal Blood certainly left their stamp on 2014 with their self-titled disc, which was nominated but didn't win the British Album prize. The disc spawned such tracks as "Out of the Black," "Figure It Out" and "Ten Tonne Skeleton." The group also performed "Figure It Out" during the Brit Awards ceremony, which can be seen in the player above.
Coincidentally, Foo Fighters and Royal Blood will share stages together later this year. Dates can be found here.
The night also saw Sam Smith (Best British Breakthrough), Ed Sheeran (Best British Album for X and Best Male Solo Artist), Paloma Faith (Best British Female Solo Artist), Taylor Swift (Best International Female Solo Artist) and Pharrell Williams (Best International Male Solo Artist) among the winners.
