You may have seen the reports on local news stations about the Friday night shooting at Richland's Top of the World Park. But I'm not the only one who has suspicions as you'll see on the Richland Police Facebook post about the story (below).
It turns out that some folks wanted to hang out at Top of the World Park at one o'clock in the morning. Who cares if the park is closed to the public at that time. They're not hurting anything, right? Well, I'm not sure.
I understand the view from there is beautiful. I'm going to make it a point to go there myself now that I know where it is (during the friggen day). But I'm not sure the view is so spectacular that I could sit and stare for stare at it for two hours. The victims arrived around 1 a.m. and by 3 a.m. there are gunshots fired. Apparently, other 'sightseers' were also hanging out in the park. These other 'sightseers' made the victims feel uncomfortable so they fled in their car. Several shots were fired and one of the victims in the car was hit several times and went to the hospital.
This is where the suspicions start. What are you doing hanging out at a park for 2 hours in the middle of the night? Did you know the people who shot at you or were they strangers? What are you doing there for two hours...drugs? Are you a member of a gang? Do you have a job that requires you to be at work the next morning? Are you just as criminal as the people who shot at you?
I really hope Richland police post answers to these questions when they become available. I can't live my life with his much suspicion for crying out loud, I need to know!
