The thrill of the hunt might be over some shoppers at the local Dollar Tree stores as word has been released that Dollar Tree is raising their prices!

Don't fret, not all things in Dollar Tree are going up.

The retail store will still have bargains but now you'll find items that'll be priced from $1.25 to $1.50 mixed in the $1.00 items.

The company says it could have items that cost as much as $5.00 on their shelves in the coming months.

In an article from the Associated Press, The CEO of Dollar Tree released a statement saying that inflation and also a chance to offer other options on their shelves has caused the retailer to make the change.

Tri-Cities has several locations of Dollar Tree. There are two in Richland, two in Kennewick, and two in Pasco that will soon be having new items on the shelves for a slightly higher price.

For some shoppers, the price increase might not matter as the company had been experimenting with "Dollar Tree Plus" sections that already featured items on sale for more than a dollar.

Here is what the CEO said about the price changes:

"For decades, our customers have enjoyed the ‘thrill-of-the-hunt’ for value at one dollar - and we remain committed to that core proposition - but many are telling us that they also want a broader product assortment when they come to shop,” said CEO Michael Witynski in a prepared statement.

It'll be an adjustment for shoppers but I just shopped at the Pasco store yesterday and with tax included, my purchase cost more than $1.00 so I'm sure regular shoppers of Dollar Tree are accustomed to not paying a flat $1.00 for all of their purchases.
