The internet celebrity and "Star Trek" alum took to Twitter to criticize a guest editorial in the Tri-City Herald written by CBC philosophy and political science professor Gary Bullert. It was favorited and re-tweeted about 1,000 times.

Takei has spent his life talking about his experiences in the camps, and even wrote a play about it. CBC and the Herald said Bullert's views were his own and did not represent the institutions. Another CBC professor wrote a counter-point in the Herald asserting racism was the motivating factor.
