If you have a black cat, you should consider leaving them in the house this Friday the 13th and Halloween.

While it's not likely someone in your neighborhood is looking to sacrifice Fluffy, it's still a good idea to look out for their safety.

Black cats are often targeted by teens and pranksters because of their place in ancient Christian/Halloween lore.

We always put our black cat inside during Halloween to make sure nothing bad happened.

A lot of animal shelters actually put restrictions on adopting black cats during October. This is partly to keep them safe from any crazy rituals, but also to prevent them from being abandoned after the holiday is over. Cats aren't props!
