Guess What Simple Thing People Do All the Time Can Earn a $1,024 Fine!

It's fun learning new things. Today I learned a very simple thing I see people do ALL THE TIME while driving in Washington is punishable with a $1,024 MINIMUM fine!

It's throwing a lit cigarette out a car window! 

Sure it's littering, but is that $1,000 worthy? Maybe not, but LIT littering (say that 10x fast) can spark roadside fires in our drought-stricken state. That's why it's $1,000+ MINIMUM!

Recently on a Seattle discussion thread a Seattleite shared their friend got the ticket for throwing out a cigarette on an urban stretch of I-5 when it was RAINING! That's right, there was ZERO risk of fire, but the state patrol has been cracking down.
