Many people drive by this feature in the roundabout near Clearwater and I-82. These three metal sculptures, called Desert Grass, were created by Joseph Rastovich. He works with metal to make his art and it varies from little sculptures to furniture. Joseph is from Kennewick and started working on metal when he was 14 after inheriting classic cars from both sides of his family. He believes visual art is a static form of music, and like music, has the power to bring forth powerful emotions from the viewer:

I create art to provide relief from normalcy. What was a bare wall of insignificance becomes a reason to stop and slow down. What was empty space becomes a place for inspiration. What was a normal average day can be transformed  into a powerful memory, when one encounters art.”
