Have You Seen This Magic Floating Tree Hidden in Washington State?
Would you believe me if I told you there was a magical tree hidden in Washington State that floats in the air and you can walk underneath it? Well it is true! This Spruce trees roots are completely exposed but is still alive and vibrant like magic.
The tree is called the Kalaloch Tree of Life or the Tree Root Cave and is located in the Kalaloch campground near Forks Washington in the Olympic National Park. There are stairs leading down to the beach where you can actually walk into the cave that is under the roots. The cave and unusual floating tree seems to be created by the small stream that flows from the cave.
It is the stream that keeps the ground free from the roots and over time is slowly widening the gap that the tree floats on. The tree has been called a "freak of nature" and a "nature glitch" by many people because it is still standing even with the strong coastal winds. All reason points that the tree should blow down with no support from the roots below it, but still it stands.
Reading about this tree is one thing, but visiting it is another. You really should see this natural wonder for yourself. There are a lot of amazing things to see in the Forks area, just make sure to be on the lookout for vampires. (sorry for the Twilight reference. Couldn't help myself.)
