Heavy, Dangerous Thunderstorms Spark Concern for Flooding in the PNW [VIDEO]
Heavy rain throughout the PNW is raising concerns about local flooding.
The National Weather Service is warning of the impacts of heavy rainfall in areas Thursday night into Friday night. A series of storms with heavy rain is likely on the way.
The National Weather Service is predicting the storms to hit throughout Washington and Idaho. The storms bring the threat of flooding and mudslides.
You're advised to bring your animals and pets inside for protection.
Some of these thunderstorms could bring gusty winds, frequent lightning, and hail.
During a thunderstorm, the National Weather Service recommends the following:
Stay weather-ready by monitoring local news about severe weather in your area.
Get to a secure location in your home. Take your pets along.
If you're outside, get to a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. Do NOT go into large rooms.
If you're driving, drive to a secure shelter. Still, being in a vehicle is safer than being outside.
