Even though it’s been almost two years since the pandemic broke out, many people still don’t know how or where to get a free COVID-19 test. It might seem complicated to some, but it’s not, it’s really very simple and easy. The only downside is that it can be time-consuming.

I recently found out I was exposed to COVID through a close family member and when I started to feel symptoms I decided to get tested…again.

I have used the Columbia Basin College West Free COVID drive-through test site twice, and each time it has been a smooth experience. You just drive up, get in line and follow the herd. It took me about 45 minutes from the time I arrived to get the swab and drive away.  It would’ve taken longer had I not registered and scheduled a time online beforehand. That’s why the folks running this test site recommend you save yourself and others time and pre-register.  After the test, the results will be available online as soon as 24 hours but could take as long as 3 days. They will call you directly if you’re positive.

The CBC site is just one of the many test sites in and around the Tri-Cities. Here’s a list of some of the most popular local testing sites.
