Here’s Why Mt. Hood Could Cause a 7.2 Earthquake
I'm not here to scare you, but I thought this recent discovery was pretty crazy.
Fault lines have been discovered on Mt. Hood on the north, south, and southwest networks. They go all the way out to the Columbia River.
These faults could trigger an earthquake bigger than the infamous San Francisco 1989 earthquake.
This is completely different from the looming Cascadia Quake.
However, the fact that the Mt. Hood fault lines are closer to Portland than the epicenter of the 1989 quake was to San Francisco is certainly frightening.
