Flying your American flag proudly can prove to be exhausting, at least to the flag. My dad who is a retired Marine flies his Marine Corp flag, along with his American flag high everyday and night above his entrance to his home. But with the Tri-cities wind they definitely see their wear and tear and eventually they just wear completely out. But what do you do with a warn out, beat up, torn up flag? Did you know there is a proper way to dispose of your flag?

The VFW in Prosser has your answer and they can help dispose of your flag properly.

Saturday March 20th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m the Prosser VFW located at 1101 Wine Country Rd, in Prosser Wa is holding a Flag burning ceremony and fish fry. You can bring your worn out Flag and have it disposed of in honor of the fallen, current and past military that have served for our freedom.

They will be hosting a yummy fish fry following the ceremony, starting at 4:00 p.m. and going until 7:00 p.m.. If you can not attend this event you are encouraged to still drop off your Flag at Smith-Runa Post 3207 at 1101 Wine Country RD in Prosser.

I will most certainly be attending this event and will be bringing my Veteran father with me, if you have a veteran in your life I encourage you to grab them this Saturday and be part of this! At the very least, they might just enjoy their visits with other local Veterans.
