Sunday May 27th, 2012 marks the 96th running of the Indianapolis 500. This year will be a very special one as last years winner Dan Wheldon will not be a part of the event after passing away last October in a fiery crash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His wife Susie Wheldon was presented the 2011 Indy 500 Champion ring on Thursday.

Today is the Miller Light Carb Day at Indianapolis Speedway that kicks off the festivities with Lynyrd Skynyrd performing tonight.
