Jaxon Smith-Njigba Presented with the Madden 99 Club Award

It is official. Jaxon Smith-Njigba has a 99 overall rating in Madden NFL 27, which is the highest rating in the game.

He is only the fourth player in Seattle Seahawks franchise history to receive a base 99 overall rating in Madden. Walter Jones, Richard Sherman and Bobby Wagner are the other three. JSN is now in that honored company.

Leonard “Big Cat” Williams Walked In With the Briefcase

EA Sports sent former NFL defensive tackle teammate and media personality Leonard Big Cat Williams to deliver the 99 Club award to Jaxon in person. Williams wears number 99 for the Seahawks, which is why he was chosen for the presentation.

There has been some fan confusion, so let's clear it up now. Big Cat himself was never rated 99 in Madden.

Williams walked in with cameras following, congratulated JSN on the achievement, and the two shared a genuine hug. The energy in the room was exactly what you would expect when someone gets told they are the best-rated receiver in the most popular football video game in the world.

The award itself is a large crystal football with a plaque mounted inside the ball facing inward, so you have to look through the crystal to read it. Simple, clean, and impressive.

How JSN Earned Himself Onto the Madden 99 Club

This rating did not come out of nowhere. Smith-Njigba jumped from a 95 overall in Madden 26 to a 99 in Madden 27 after one of the most dominant receiving seasons in recent Seahawks history.

He finished with 119 receptions, a league-leading 1,793 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, earning AP Offensive Player of the Year honors while helping lead Seattle to Super Bowl LX.
