K9 ELAN Assists Pasco Police & WSP in Apprehending Wanted Suspect
Gotta' love it when Police teamwork pays off. That happened Sunday afternoon when a wanted suspect was taken into custody after assaulting a Fish and Wildlife Officer.
According to the Pasco Police Facebook page, the Fish and Wildlife Officer located a with a warrant out in the vicinity of the Pasco Boat Basin just before 2:30 pm.
A dispatcher contacted Pasco Police and Washington State Police to check on the officer who wasn't responding to his radio.
WSP Troopers, Pasco Police, and Street Crimes responded to the area. They surrounded the area after a Trooper saw the suspect run into a nearby homeowner's garage.
Soon, K9 Elan and Police Officer Josh Madsen arrived on the scene. As calls were made for the wanted suspect to come out. The suspect did NOT respond. K9 Elan quickly found the suspect hiding in a parked pickup in the homeowner's garage. At that point, Police ordered the suspect to come out & he complied.
The suspect was taken into custody & K9 Elan was rewarded for a job well done.
Hopefully, Elan was rewarded with treats and some extra play-time. Good job!
Being a fan of our local Police and our K9 Officers, it does a heart good when the job gets accomplished. Best wishes to the Fish and Wildlife Officer who was assaulted by the suspect.
