Man Injured in Kennewick Drive-By, Police Searching For Shooter
A 23-year old man was injured in a possible gang-related shooting.
Kennewick Police were called to a disturbance with weapons at 3:10 pm in the 1100 block of North Cleveland Street on Wednesday. It was reported that two vehicles exchanged gunfire near West Canal Drive and North Cleveland Street. One vehicle took off toward the 1600 block of West 2nd Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found bullet casings in the roadway. However, no suspects or victims were located.
A short time later, a man called 9-1-1 saying he was shot.
23-year-old Adrian Torres-Garza was soon located and transported to a local hospital. He was treated for a non-life-threatening bullet wound to his hip.
The investigation revealed this incident was gang-related.
Police are continuing their investigation of the incident. Adrian Torres-Garza was determined to be one of the primary aggressors. After treatment, Adrian Torres-Garza was released and booked into the Benton County Jail. He's charged with the alleged crime of Drive-By Shooting.
This remains an active investigation.
