Kennewick Health Clinic Blaze Might be From a Dryer
If you're like me, you've thought about getting your dryer vent cleaned for years but have never made the call. Why do we put off things that could be so important? Well, after reading this story, I think I'm going to make a call today to have our dryer vent professionally cleaned. In a quick Google search, I found John's Dryer Vent Cleaning in Benton City, Pringle's Power Vac in Richland, and Pro Vac LLC in Pasco. It looks like they all have pretty good ratings and comments. I mean, think about how much lint you take out of your dryer screen after every load of clothes. How much is getting stuck in that vent, and how deep does it go? And have you ever taken dryer lint backpacking to start a fire? It goes up like it was soaked in gasoline. The dryer lint trap is easy enough to clean but I have no idea how to properly clean the vent tubing on my own. Naturally, there are YouTube videos to teach you how to do anything, but I think my dryer event is up on the roof not on the side of the house. You won't find me climbing onto a roof unless someone threw a Twinkie up there.
KPD Fire was called to a fire on Edison St. at about 1:45 a.m. Since the fire appears to have started where the washer and dryer are, they're thinking that was probably the cause, but it remains officially undetermined at this posting. You can read the full story below.
