Did You Know the Kennewick DMV Is Closed on Monday? Neither Did I

Yesterday I drove over to the Kennewick office on West Clearwater Avenue to renew my license, walked up to the door, and realized it was locked.

They were closed on a Monday.

I had no idea they were not open Monday-Friday, and apparently neither did other people I asked.

Two Other Long Time Kennewick Residents Had No Idea Either

When I mentioned it to two people I know who have lived in the Tri-Cities for a long time, both of them were just as surprised as I was. These are not newcomers to the area. Between the two of them, they have decades of local history, and neither one remembered the Kennewick DOL office being closed on Mondays.

Their best guess, and mine too, after thinking about it, is that the change happened sometime after COVID-19. A lot of government offices quietly reduced their hours and days during the pandemic, and many of them never fully went back to their previous schedules. It would make sense that this is one of those situations.

I tried to research it, and even the online sources contradict each other on when the change actually happened.

What the Kennewick DOL Office Hours Actually Are

For anyone else who might make the same Monday mistake I did, the Kennewick Driver Licensing Office at 3311 W Clearwater Avenue is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, Thursday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
