Mama’s Diner is Facing Closure!

Small Mom and Pop's businesses all across Washington are struggling to keep their doors open but this one hits home for me.

Mama's Diner in Benton City is a part of my community and Lori "Mama" has adopted the title of Mama in real life in that small town. Not only does she produce homemade deliciousness in her diner but she has been giving back to her community since she opened her doors not long ago.

Danielle Clegg, who is her business neighbor and friend has set up a gofundme to help Mama's keep her doors open while we wait for things to get back to normal. Here is what Danielle wrote in her fundraiser about Lori "Mama."....

The best little Diner in Benton City, Mama's Diner, was opened in 2018 by Lori M Dale. She has been serving her homemade goodness to the community ever since! She puts her heart and love into every meal and all that she does! She has organized and put on events that has offered FREE meals to Veterans on Veterans Day, FREE meals for Thanksgiving and FREE meals for Christmas even giving away FREE gifts to community children.
During this year, with Covid-19 and all the restrictions she has had to make many changes and adjustments but she continued to spread her love of giving, she partnered with her Church, New Beginnings Nazarene, and again with Friendship Kitchen, to help offer kids In our community FREE MEALS on the weekends, since the school district only offers them Monday- Friday.
With all the restrictions, still in place, she has felt the struggle, and fears she will have to close the doors that she has fought so hard to keep OPEN!! As a friend, a patron and business neighbor, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THIS HAPPEN!
She is such an amazing person with such a caring and loving heart! Her motto has always been...
”NOBODY SHOULD GO ALONE, AND NO CHILD SHOULD GO WITHOUT”
and neither should she!!!
She has given so much back to the community and now it’s our time to give back to her!!!
