A man is dead after a collision with a semi-truck Thursday in Pasco. 79-year old Gale Easterday of Mesa was driving in the wrong direction when he struck the semi head-on.

The crash happened at 3:30 pm near 4th Avenue. Washington State Patrol reports Easterday entered I-182 using the off-ramp traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when his vehicle hit the semi, causing the semi to hit a third vehicle.

The semi ended up in oncoming traffic, blocking the westbound lanes. Two other vehicles were hit by debris from the collision.

Easterday was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The accident had the interstate closed for hours.
