Metallica have been sharing videos from the first night of their 40th anniversary shows in San Francisco.

First, they went deep on Ride the Lightning and released their live performance of "Trapped Under Ice" from their 40th anniversary show in San Francisco. Then, they shared the official video of them playing "Fixxxer" for a live audience for the first time ever in their career. Now, Metallica have turned to one of their biggest hits in the late-'90s, "King Nothing," from Load. You can watch them jam through the tune at San Francisco's Chase Center in the video below:

This marked their 357th time performing the song live. The first time they played it was in San Francisco, too, back on June 9, 1996. It was a staple in their setlists in the years that followed and even popped up occasionally in the mid-2010s. Of course, when Metallica played it on Dec. 17, 2021, fans had no idea that just a few weeks later, the band would be asking for photos, ticket stubs and anything else from the Load and Reload eras in preparation of the release of the deluxe box set for those albums. With the unveiling of this live video, it only makes the anticipation for what will no doubt be a massive box set that much sweeter.

What do you think the next video release will be? If you revisit the setlist from that first 40th anniversary gig, we're hoping we get to relive the intense "Spit Out the Bone" or maybe the unforgettable "The Shortest Straw." In the meantime, make sure you download the full show at LiveMetallica.com or stream it via Nugs.
