Mets’ Minor League Team to Celebrate ‘Seinfeld’ in the Most Awesome Way!
Jerry Seinfeld showed his hometown Mets love throughout Seinfeld, and the Mets' minor league affiliate Brooklyn Cyclones are returning the favor.
On July 5, the team is transforming MCU Park into an arena of references to the classic show. The Cyclones will rename the ballpark itself Vandelay Industries Park for one night only. The foul poles in right and left field will be renamed the Festivus Poles.
Before the game, Cyclones players will wear puffy shirts, much like the one Seinfeld wore on the “Today Show” during an episode from 1993.
In honor of Newman, mailmen will throw out the ceremonial first pitches. There will also be a cereal eating competition, an Elaine dance-off, and more.
