Moses Lake Patricide Suspect Pleads ‘&*!#’ YOU to Judge
This judge was far too nice.
A 21 year-old man who is accused of killing his own father was brought in for his court date. Jonathan Torres had previously been found competent to stand trial following a mental health evaluation.
He initially refused to come in for his hearing, but his lawyer agreed he could be brought in with force if he had to be. That's exactly what happened. The defiant Torres was handed a copy of his rights as they were being read to him. He destroyed it. Literally. I'm not sure if he ate it. After being read his charges and asked for his plea, Jonathan replied "F--k you."
I would not do what this judge did. That's probably why they don't want me anywhere near a judge's podium.
The Ephrata judge, bless his heart, took Torres' defiant statement as a "not guilty" plea.
