Legendary NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall has died today, he was 82. Known for his deep voice and love of the game, Summerall worked on a record 16 Super Bowls. Summerall was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame in 1994, and the American Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame in 1999.

For many, Summerall was the voice of football on Sunday; having worked with John Madden for 21 years. Summerall's final play-by-play words with John Madden captured the thrilling end to a Super Bowl made historic by the new-found unity of the United States after the Septermber 11th attacks.

"It's right down the pipe. Adam Vinatieri. No time on the clock. And the Patriots have won Super Bowl XXXVI. Unbelievable."
