A 14-year-old boy says he was chased and shot by someone in a car

A 14-year-old boy was injured and treated at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital after the shooting reported Thursday morning at the intersection of 13th Avenue and St. Helens Street.
The victim was walking in the area when he says someone in a vehicle chased him and fired shots. The teen was hit in the legs. His injuries were not life threatening.
But it's another drive-by shooting in Yakima, a crime that has become routine but dangerous for Yakima residents.

One of the most dramatic drive-by shootings happened in June of this year. Yakima Police are still searching for the shooters.
the shooting was reported June 14 when a 17-year-old gang member was shot as he was riding in a vehicle with his mother at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Fruitvale Blvd.
Authorities are still searching for 19-year-old Jesus Mendoza-Garcia and 17-year-old Alonzo Mendoza-Garcia. Both are charged with first-degree assault and drive by shooting for the shooting on June 14 in which innocent people standing nearby the intersection came close to also being injured by flying bullets.
Police say the victim in the crime has been active in gang activity since the shooting and wasn't dissuaded by the shooting that nearly took his life and the life of his mother.
