No One Hurt in Gnarly Kennewick Back Porch and Attic Fire
Flames engulfed a back porch at a Kennewick residence in the 100 block of East 23rd Ave. Tuesday afternoon.
First on scene, Kennewick Fire Department firefighters responded to reports of heavy black smoke pouring out the rear of a home at 3:48 p.m. The rear deck and attic were blazing and it took about 15 minutes for the fire to be contained.
Assisting were Benton County Fire District 1, plus the Richland and Pasco Fire Departments. No one was injured as no one was home at the time the fire started and the cause is still under investigation.
One dog was rescued and responders were still looking for one of two family cats.
