Pasco’s Grand Ole Fourth of July Parade is Going Virtual in 2020
Although Pasco will be unable to have their annual Grand Old 4th of July parade in 2020, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the City of Pasco and KAPP-KVEW Television have teamed up to bring a virtual parade to our community.
Decorate your virtual parade entry (Car, Float, Bike, Motorcycle, Horse, Team, etc.) just like you would if you were participating in the traditional parade.
Beginning Thursday June 25th, the community will be able to vote for their favorite photo (voting ends early July 4th). The winning photo will receive a $200 gift card from KAPP-KVEW. All Photos must be received by June 29th.
The City of Pasco looks forward to seeing your entries in this year’s virtual parade and can’t wait to meet again in person at the 2021 Grand Old 4th of July Parade and Celebration.
This virtual parade is the second killer idea to come out of the Tri-Cities in the never ending quest to thwart further COVID-19 fallout. Red White and Zoom is scheduled in Benton City from 10:00 p.m. to midnight this year on the 4th of July. The official parade route is still to be determined, but the best part is everyone in town, for the most part, will be able to participate after dark and still maintain social distancing in their driveway.
And since the Governor has mandated EVERYONE must wear a mask if you go outside and into businesses across the state of Washington beginning Friday, it's nice to have some temporary reprieves in place trying to establish a semblance of a new normal.
