Pendleton Votes for New Statues… Who in Tri-Cities Deserves a Statue?
One of my favorite things about Pendleton is the local heroes in bronze. They will soon vote on who should be the two new statues. At least one will be a Native American so local chiefs have been nominated. The other may be a pioneer or rodeo Round-Up legend. If we had a similar tradition in Tri-Cities, who would you nominate?
First, let's make a list of who already has a statue. There's a Native American in Downtown Kennewick. Is that Kamiakin? There's a paper boy in front of The Herald, is that anyone in particular? A Hanford big cheese has a bust in front of the Richland Library. I'm not aware of any in Pasco but I'm sure there are several.
