Tonight, 5 different Mid-Columbia high school football teams will battle 5 teams from the Greater Spokane League to settle this years state playoff births. If you love to watch local high school football, now is the time to go watch a game.

By the end of the weekend Sunday after all the games have been completed, a panel will rank teams from 1st to 16th in each separate classification for Washington State. That order will decide the 1st round games for the state championship. The 1st ranked team plays the 16th, the 2nd plays the 15th, and so on.

If teams want to be included in the 16 teams, they must win this weekend to be considered. Here are 5 big match-ups that will mean a lot to the state playoff picture.
