Police are warning that car prowling season is upon us.

A car prowl is the theft of items from a vehicle, which can take less than a minute and cause several thousands of dollars in damage. Most prowls happen when it's dark and you're asleep.  However, car prowls do occur during daylight as well.

Police recommend locking your car and parking it in a well-lit area.  If you can, park in a garage or secure area.  It might be a good idea to invest in a security camera system for your home, too.

Also, remove anything valuable from your vehicle, including cell phones, checkbooks, clothing, credit/debit/gift cards, electronics, garage door openers, jewelry, keys, luggage, gym bags, mail, purses, receipts, statements, store bags, or packages, tools.

If you can take away anything from this...Park in a secure area, lock your windows and doors.  And, remove ALL valuable items.

A thief is looking to take ANYTHING of value.

CAR PROWLING SEASON has come again. It gets a little darker and a little colder and the migratory herds of drab-coated...
