Richland Badger Mountain Dog Park Second Phase Now OPEN!
A frenzy of furry friends frolicked with fenced frivolity and fanfare as Tri-Cities only dog park opened its second phase on Friday after months of planning and delays. The play area has been remodeled and re-sodded.
The Paws-Abilities Place Dog Park, for large and small dogs is right next to the old dog parks at Badger Mountain Community Park. Only one side will be open at a time to allow turf maintenance work. Which side is open will be rotated approximately every six weeks.
As many as 40 dogs and their owners can converge on the park with nice weather on the weekends. The five-and-a-half acre project cost $120,000 with $30,000 coming from donations from the Tri-City Dog Park Society.
The park for the woofers is one of 58 parks in the City of Richland and the only one in all of the Tri-Cities where it's lawful to have your pet off its leash.
