Saturday’s Tri-Cities Walk to Defeat ALS Raises Hope for Survivors
The ALS Association Evergreen Chapter, in a press release, announced it is hosting the Tri-Cities Walk to Defeat ALS fundraising event to help support local residents living with Lou Gehrig’s Disease at Howard Amon Park on Saturday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m.
ALS survivors and their families team up with caring residents, caregivers, volunteers, advocates, and local sponsors to deliver a day to raise awareness for the fight to deny this disease. The three-mile walk is open to the public, and participants can register for free as well as utilize valuable fundraising tools online here.
“We are thankful to the walk participants in the Tri Cities area who raise funds to help improve the lives of patients afflicted with this devastating disease,” said Pauline Proulx, Executive Director of the Evergreen Chapter. “We would not be able to provide the services and care to local ALS patients without our donors’ engagement and support.”
All pre-registered participants will score a free T-shirt. Dollars raised will help fund services for locals living with ALS like clinic referrals, equipment rentals, transportation, and group therapy.
In 2018 the Evergreen Chapter, one of 39 chapters or affiliates of The ALS Association, served almost 850 patients in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
