Scary Kidnapping Attempt at Hoopfest, Crowd Steps in to Help

A super scary moment for a mom attending Hoopfest in Spokane happened over the weekend when a man attempted to kidnap her young child. No worries though, because alert bystanders stepped in to help!

According to news reports, 26-year-old Peter Wilson was acting suspiciously at Hoopfest and eventually grabbed a young child and tried to run away. This resulted in a tug of war, and eventually nearby Hoopfesters stepped in and wrestled the man to the ground and held him until police arrived.

Wilson is under arrest for attempted kidnapping. The child was OK, but shaken.
