Seattle’s Most Affordable Home is Actually an Adorable Boat
Seattle's most affordable home is a houseboat in the Seattle Marina.
When I was younger, my uncle always told me how I would love living on a boat. I've never been seasick before, so it's entirely possible I would love living on the water. We would walk down to Clover Island in Kennewick and walk the docks in Columbia Marina. While you can't actually live there, you can live in Seattle Marina on board Pacena.
Realtor Molly Cartwright says that Pacena is a "classic houseboat grandfathered into Seattle's Lake Union conveniently located along the Burke Gilman Trail."
Pacena was built in 1991 and this forty-footer has several more years of adventure in her future.
How much does Seattle's cheapest home cost?
At 550 square feet, wishful homeowners will have to budget for a $350,000 asking price. Compared to other, more expensive listings in Seattle, Pacena is much more updated and homier. If I were on the market for a new home, I would certainly have this lovely houseboat on my list.

How much would Pacena's monthly mortgage payment be?
If you were pretty liquid and could put down 20% ($70,000) on your loan, you could make out with a decent monthly payment of $1,522. Throw in $830 a month for utilities (which includes garbage and electric), and you're looking at $2352 a month.
Why don't we climb aboard and tour Pacena?
