Seattle PD Arrest 204 Men After Opening Massage Parlor Sting
The Seattle police department arrested 204 men after opening a fake sex massage parlor and advertising on backpage.com. The location was shut down in May, but reopened by police to catch people for prostitution according to news reports. Police arrested 204 men in a 10 day period that started right after the 4th of July. Officers siezed over $22,000 in cash from the men who now face fines ranging from $2,733 to $550,000 depending on if they are first time or repeat offenders.
The men arrested had a wide variety of careers from bus drivers, architects, technology employees, construction workers, surgeons, a dentist, a nurse, a journalist, attorneys, a sports-management executive, and law- enforcement officer in training. All men were booked because police hope the process will work as a deterrent for repeat offenders.
