As the great mask debate continues nationwide, a group of students at Southridge High School in Kennewick has made their thoughts on the subject known here at home.

I'm lucky that I spend most of my day in a radio studio by myself, so I only wear a mask when I go to the grocery store or something. And when my co-host is in the studio with me, there is ample distance between us. But the pain of having to wear a mask all day is wearing on a lot of folks.

According to one student, all the kids at school are wearing masks, but about half of them wear it below the chin leaving the nose and mouth completely exposed. It's like not wearing a mask at all. They haven't been called out for it, so some students showed up to protest the mask mandate by simply not wearing them at all. Those students were sent home.
