The Tri-cities was shook to the core on Monday after the shooting at Fred Meyer in Richland. Many folks posting on Facebook, scared to send their children to their sporting events, nervous to go to their job and afraid to walk into the grocery store for groceries.

It brings me much relief to have seen the response from our local first responders and every imaginable agency within 100 miles. Richland Police Department posted on their Facebook page thanking everyone involved in apprehending the shooter from Mondays tragedy and my jaw dropped in awe! Post from RPD:

We would like to thank all of the Law Enforcement Agencies that have worked diligently to support the Richland Police Department and our community during this tragic event. Kennewick Police Department, Pasco Police, Washington State Patrol, Benton County, WA Sheriff's Office, Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, West Richland Police Department, Umatilla County Sheriff's Office, Spokane County Sheriff's Office, Prosser Police Department, Hermiston Police Department, Port of Pasco (Airport Police), Connell Police Department, Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife, Adams County Sheriff's Office, AFT Yakima, FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals Service.

The Richland Police Department went on to post thanks to the community who has reached out to them to show their appreciation. They received handwritten thank you cards from children at Liberty Christian School of the Tri-Cities, snacks, coffee and meals from their friends at Fred Meyer, Crumbl Cookies and Boar's Head.

Makes me proud to live here, thank you to all the men and women in uniform and please stay safe out there!
